February 17th is apparently "National Random Acts Of Kindness" Day!
Technically all of us should perform random acts of kindness every day, but I'm not here to preach but to talk about random acts of kindness that I've experienced. After every snowstorm (or in this case during the storm), I help our apartment complex in Fort Ann shovel, clean off their cars, etc. and I don't know when it happened, but as we were gathering our car keys to move the vehicles while our landlord was removing snow, I noticed my keys were missing! Panic mode almost sets in I text the landlords alerting them, temper starts to flare up (where's a pillow where I can scream into). I walk around the block to cool off and start digging around in the snowbanks around the apartment with one of my neighbors helping me locate my keys. He found them! I couldn't thank him enough and wouldn't accept anything. I was just grateful for his help (which he didn't have to do).
Kindness does make the world go round. Look for opportunities to help someone, but don't brag about it or put a spotlight on it. Do it because it's the right thing to do. Even if you don't want to help anyone, force yourself to!!! I guarantee you will feel better!
