I went to see one of the latest psychological horror films and this time my wife joined me (it was rated PG-13, not R so she was certain there would be no gore)! I thought I was going to be seeing the same old same old. Granted there are plenty of jump scares and the film is nowhere near perfect with its execution, but it certainly surprised me in a good way! Be warned though, if you or anyone in your household are looking for a scary movie filled with ghosts, tons of jump scares as the previews lead you to believe, then YOU & THEY WILL be disappointed! 

I won't spoil the film or giveaway what the HUGE plot twist is, but the distributors did an awful job selling this film! They actually mismarketed the film in a bad way, because the audience will expect one thing and they will get another. The BIG plot reveal is a difficult topic to discuss to be fair and I think Jaume Collet-Serra handled it was fair, although it could've been more intense and powerful if he handled it a certain way.
