Dog helps human play Nintendo game for charity

Some dogs help humans with chores.  Some dogs help chase rodents away.

One helps his owner play a Nintendo game from the 1980's.

Meet Peanut Butter, a Shiba.  His owner, James, taught him how to play on a modified game pad that would allow Peanut Butter to play the Nintendo game, Gyromite.  Last week, the world got to meet James and Peanut Butter when the two showcased their talent in a charity event called Awesome Games Done Quick.  During the run, James, which streams on the platform Twitch under the name JSR_, would instruct Peanut Butter to place his paws on buttons corresponding with the raising and lowering of platforms, trying to guide the spite across the map of each level of the 1980's video game.

This replaces the intended need to use an accessory called R.O.B., which was a robot accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

While the run wasn't flawless, as a rogue enemy in Level 16 would glitch from the left side of the screen to the right side, causing the team to lose their final life, the two were set up with a continue code to go to Level 17 and would complete the game from there.

The run helped to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, which through the week-long event, raised over $2.5 Million dollars.
