Within the past five years I've noticed that certain DVD's that I've had for over 15 years were not playing anymore. I'd look at the back of them and they had no scratches and the disc looked fine! Then I started to see some random YouTube videos discussing that certain DVD's from Warner Bros. just stopped working or the disc would freeze in the middle of the film! NOW this issue is trending and if you want to read all the details, then click here!
The cool thing that I read in this article is that Warner Bros. will help replace the discs (if they're in print). All the links you need are in the article above.
This does not deter me from collecting. DVD's, Blu-Rays & 4K's (heck even VHS tapes) can last for decades if they're treated and cared for properly! Nicole & I don't stream, don't have cable, etc. I have over 3,000 films between the three formatted discs and have had several suffer from disc rot and have had a couple replaced with no issues.
If you or your family have had DVDs for almost 20 years (especially if they're from Warner Bros.) check them and share this!
